NEW MUSIC: TEYANA TAYLOR.

Teyana Taylor
COMPLICATED

Star Trak recording artist Teyana Taylor's song "Complicated" leaked from her upcoming debut album 'A Planet Called Harlem' this week. The track was produced by Hit Boy, & written by famed writing team The Clutch (Keri Hilson's writing team). Due to the album being pushed back, the song is two years old, but new to most of our ears. The song knocks, this adds to my small collection of songs from the Teen President herself. So far, I like most of her tracks. Check it out.

Get Well AnnaLynne. =(

"90210 actress Annalynne McCord is so ill with flu she arrived at a recent showbiz event close to collapse – and spent the evening curled up in a corner wearing a bathrobe.

The 21-year-old star reportedly looked dizzy at a CW network corporate event at Madison Square Garden on Thursday night.

Worried executives feared she was seriously ill when the actress resorted to pulling on a bathrobe and curling up in a foetal position in the corner of the green room, reports the New York Post.

But a spokesperson for McCord has calmed fears over her health, insisting: “She’s got the flu.”"

I hope AnnaLynne recovers soon! I was wondering why I didn't see her at the after party for the Upfronts. I was really looking forward to. Get well Ms. McCord! =(

Speaking of the Upfronts, check out some pictures of the cast members of 90210, Gossip Girl, and Melrose Place (new)

THE CW: IT'S OFFICIAL.

CW's "The Game" has officially been cancelled. According to cast member Tia Mowry, and director of "The Game" Matthew Cherry, CW has officially pulled the plug. The Game has been on air for 3 seasons, since 2006. Creator of The Game, Mara Brock Akil tried pitching the sitcom to CW execs as a One-Hour Dramedy to keep the show alive, but to no avail. The CW has been making a very noticeable pattern, that will remain un...typed. BET also has no intensions in picking up the sitcom. This indeed was a great show, and all good things come to an end. I wish for everyone who worked on The Game the best of luck in their future projects, and nothing but greatness to await them. I enjoyed this show very much, and it'll never be forgotten.

As much as I would like to unsupport the CW network, I can't, because I still love my One Tree Hill, and I watch 90210, supporting my boy Tristan Wilds (at least that's how it started). One Tree Hill will also continue on to season 7, 90210 with their 2nd season, Gossip Girl, ANTM, and more. Three new shows will be added to the line up, and Everybody Hates Chris will no longer be on the line up, due to cancellation, on behalf of Chris Rock, and Reaper has also been cancelled (allegedly). More than likely after One Tree Hill is over and done with (after season 7 I think) then that's probably when I'll stop supporting CW. Unless I get obsessed with something else. Until then, there NEEDS to be an urban network for television. Tyler Perry, Oprah, waddup?

P.S: BET does not count. Thanks.

NEW MUSIC.

Produced by none other than Bryan Michael Cox. New leak. Not sure if it's going to be on the album as of yet. Sounds like something that could have been on "Lessons in Love", so, it may be an old track. He is currently working on his new album, still untitled for the moment. He's looking for fans suggestions for his album title, so if you have any ideas, don't be afraid to comment.

Drizzy Drake in Atlanta, GA.

I actually forgot to post this. Many people were excited and going hard about this Drake show. Feels like everyone went. A few weeks ago, Drake performed most of his well known songs at The Loft in Atlanta. VA native Trey Songz also made an appearance to complete the duet performance "Successful" along with Drake himself. Aubrey "Drake" Graham has become 2009's big buzz in the music industry. He's come a long way from playing "Wheelchair Jimmy" aka Jimmy Brooks in the teen show, Degrassi: The Next Generation since 2001. Luckily for mixtapes and Lil Wayne, Drake was able to be seen and heard by the public, and also respected. When I heard about him rapping in 2005, I wasn't sure if I could take him seriously. You know, since everyone wants to rap these days. Though, I finally listened to him sing last year when I heard Travis cover his song "Brand New", I got curious to hear the original version, then I started to dig it/him. But to the point, I got a chance to listen to his third mixtape, "So Far Gone" and man, I couldn't stop listening. I'm not really a rap head (anymore) so not many lyricist these days interest me, but Drake did it for me. I can see him going far. Very talented young man. Rapper, singer, actor, he's doing his thing. I really wish to see him succeed in all of his endevours. Without further ado, here he is performing some of his hits, also, I included his version of "Take You Down" that is featured on his new mixtape "The Drought Is Over: Drake Edition". Do you think he'll go down as one of the best rappers alive? Let me know what you think.

The film stars Mo'Nique, Mariah Carey, Lenny Kravitz, Paula Patton, Sherri Shepherd, Chyna Lane (infamous Dr. Miracle commercials) and Gabourey "Gabby" Sidibe as Precious.

The movie was also under the name "Push" Based on the novel by Sapphire. Check out the Trailer. Looks good! Support when it comes out guys! =)

Barack Obama: Husband, Father, President, Comedian.

Not only "my President is black", he's a daggone comedian. This past Saturday, (May 9th) Barack Obama brought laughs to the room during the White House Correspondents' Dinner. The event included many other A-Lister's who were invited to celebrate and support, with the likes of Bon Jovi, Ashton Kutcher, Demi Moore, Whoopi Goldberg, Alicia Keys and more. Wanda Sykes even got up on the mic. Couldn't let Mr. Obama himself show her up! Check out the video if you missed it.

NEW MUSIC.

Trey Songz
"First Date Sex"

Some of you may have heard of singer Jeremih by now, if you haven't, the song "Birthday Sex" may definitely be a reminder. Of course Trey had to jump on the track, flip it, and kill it. No confirmation of this spinoff being an official remix to "Birthday Sex". Though, I never really cared for "Birthday Sex", but now that I hear "First Date Sex", it seems more appealing to my ears? I don't know. Maybe I shall give Jeremih another shot. Tell me what you think about Trey's version, and don't be bias! "yuuup!"

Fun Fact: Willie of Day 26 is Jeremih's cousin....allegedly.

How Far Are You Willing to Go?

I'm sure all of you are familiar with the faces above. The question mark head you ask? SHE will not even be given any PLAY on my blog. Yeah, surprisingly Rihanna's face is on my blog, huh? Well, I just saw her nude pictures earlier, and as weird as this may seem, hers were more tasteful than that other chick's nude pics. Many females in the industry have been a victim of "leaked photos/videos". Where are all the men??? Okay, back to being serious. Of course, many of us know that these "leaked" pictures, are never really leaked. For some reason, it has become a trend in the industry, mostly the music industry. With Kim Kardashian and Ray J's sex tape "leaking", it gained them more stardom (Kim at least) and more attention for their "careers". Some of you may have seen the 'tape' of the two, and it's definitely nothing to brag about, but of course, it made a buzz. Next up, Adrienne Bailon. Now, I love my little enanita, but I will say I was highly disappointed in her 'leaked' nude pictures. When I said disappointed, I don't mean her body or anything, I'm talking about the fact that it was happening. Many publicist try their best to get their client noticed, and moving foward to "greater" things. Most of us remember Adrienne from the girl group 3LW, followed by Disney's sensation, The Cheetah Girls. When I first heard, and saw the pictures, I was indeed saddened by what may be "the takeover", and when I say "the takeover", I mean industry wise. Now, I haven't seen or spoken to Adrienne in like...light years, so I really don't know if she's still the same ol' Age, or if the industry has changed her, or if she 'gave in'. Some people let the industry take over their lives, make them puppets, and evolve them into a totally different species. In a way, I DO understand why she or whomever may have 'leaked' those pictures, being that she's a 25 year old Latina, and most of her fan base are a group of young girls. Trying to break out of the of the Disney/Nickelodeon scene for an adult, can be VERY difficult, but at the same time, it is definitely not a good look for your young group of girls. Everything that I am saying is in no way in disrespect towards Ms. Bailon. I just think she should have done her breakout differently. But I guess whatever works, huh?
The no name, no face person...one word. DESPERATE. I'm sorry, I'm not falling for the 'leaked' pictures. Everything always happens on a time period. Followed by "success" or the release of coming out of something. Spare me.
Now, Rihanna. I would have never thought I'd be talking about this girl on my blog, but here I am. Everyone already knows I'm not too fond of the girl. The very next day after No Name's nude pictures get "leaked", Rihanna's are floating around the internet. I'm no hater, and I'll give props when I feel props are due, and damnit, saying this makes me sound gay as hell, but, Rihanna's pictures seemed to be displayed way more classier than No Name's. Does that even make sense? They looked more innocent than No Name's "look at meeee" type of pictures, and to add, her body is pretty fit! Unlike someone's 12 year old boy body. Oops.

The question arises, how far are you willing to go? If you were an artist, (singer, actor, producer, etc) and your career was on the line, or you were trying to get some shine, you know, some buzz in the media, blogs etc, would you go as far as releasing nude pictures of yourself on the internet for everyone to see? Would you even take nude pictures and upload them to your computer? Do you take nude pictures? BECAREFUL, for there is leakage...

P.S: Aubrey got flack for doing PLAYBOY, yet, she didn't show her vajay-jay and STILL got half a million for it. Didn't have to "leak" anything. Whaddup Diddy? =)

Speak your mind...

Leaving you with;

"If you work hard in life, you'll be rewarded. If you take short cuts, you get cut short. Your reward may be financial, or it may spiritual, but it will most definitely be in direct proportion to the effort you make in life." - Rev Run

Hello. (echo)

Well hello there. Most of you reading know me, or know of me, on all different types of levels. Some personally, some see me every once in a while, and some through the net. Hello to you, and hello to everyone else who just came across this blog. Obviously, it's my first blog entry, so I'm going to give a quick run through, and the get down to the nitty gritty.

The name is Jenn, that's all. I created this blog to touch on many subjects, and to pick everyone's brain. Also, I'll be blogging about myself, and anything that I may find interesting that goes on around me. That doesn't mean it'll be interesting to YOU per se, but you'll still read, right? Though, that'll help those who don't know me too well GET to know me a bit better. You'll get to learn who I am, what I'm about, what I like to do, etc. As far as topics, if there's something you'd like for me to touch base on, just shoot me an email, (melodiqsoul@gmail.com) and that can probably be an open discussion. It can be about artists, movies, tv shows, fashion, sex, relationships, politics, whatever you like. Once you keep reading, you'll get the drift. =)

Today, I wanted to touch on the gay community. The other day, I finally got to check out B. Scott's vlog about Bow Wow being homophobic. I didn't get a chance to view the video B. Scott is talking about, but the story goes as; Bow Wow is in a barber shop, ready to get his hair cut, he then realizes the barber that's about to cut his hair is "gay". At this point, Bow does NOT want a gay man touching his head. So if I'm not mistaken, he had some else cut his hair. B. Scott heard about this, and went off. I'd really have to say B. Scott touched on MANY valid points. Now, I don't want to say what Bow should and should not do, but in my eyes, that wasn't right at all. I know some people can't help what they don't like, or are not comfortable with, but there are certain ways to do things. It's kind of crazy how people can be homophobic, and it's only when they know the person is gay, or if the person shows signs of being overly flamboyant. What if he's had gay men who are NOT flamboyant touch his head before? Did it make a difference then? I think if a person is skilled at a certain profession, it shouldn't matter WHAT their race, sexual orientation or PREFERENCE is, they are trained to do a job, and they are certified in doing it well. It's funny how we go through this whole racism, black history, prejudice past, yet, people are doing SAME exact thing with gays. Now, no disrespect to Bow, no shade either, but if he, or anyone reading that may be homophobic, especially if you're black, replace that gay barber with a BLACK barber, see the difference? Yeah, there IS none. What if someone didn't want to deal with you because you were black? Or Hispanic? "I don't want that nigger cutting my hair", you see how we repeat history? We want prejudgment to stop, but it's up to US to make it stop. I for one, I can't treat someone difference because they don't do the same things I do, or like what I like, or seem "different" to the public eye. I have many gay friends, and I treat them equally to all of my other friends. There's no reason to treat them differently. They are regular human beings! "Gays are not normal". What IS normal? No one in this world is "normal". There is NO definition on living a "normal" lifestyle, because there isn't just ONE lifestyle. Many of you have gay friends, family members, teachers, co-workers, etc. Gays are people too! Just remember, when you offend the gay community, you are offending YOURSELVES, your race, your generation and ANYONE who has been discriminated again. Ex: your grandparents and/or great grandparents, Rosa Parks, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. who FOUGHT during the worst times for YOU to have a better life than they did, not to have you do what was done to them!
Not saying that Bow Wow is DL, but like B. Scott said, many guys/girls that are homophobic, or just always seem to bad-mouth the gay community, are usually the one's who are on the down low/closet gays, and trust, I've seen it happen many times with friends of mine. The end. Before you ask, no, I'm not gay, bisexual, interested in the same sex, etc. But I am NOT against them. People can't help WHO (or what) they fall in love with. Can't help your feelings or emotions, for the same reason some women (or men) stay in abusive relationships, whether it be physical or verbal....but that's a whole 'nother subject. "Being gay is a sin". Judging is a sin. God creates people a certain way for a PURPOSE. Everyone is put on this earth for a reason, just the way you are. God has a plan. Ever seen the movie Simon Birch? If not, you should.

That's the end of my first blog entry (thank God, I know =) hehe) Again, for any suggestions on anything concerning the site, the topics, etc, feel free to email me at melodiqsoul@gmail.com
This site may turn out to be something totally different than what it started out to be. Stay tuned. =)

Love yourself, appreciate yourself, forgive yourself and ACCEPT yourself. At the end of the day, no one can do it like YOU do.

Signed Sincerely,

A Melodiq Soul
